Seniors present Honors Recital at Northfield Mount Hermon School

NORTHFIELD , Mass. —The Northfield Mount Hermon School will offer its annual Senior Honors recital on May 14 at 7:30 pm .The recital presents the school’s best two senior musicians, as determined by the NMH music faculty.

This year will feature Saya Namikawa, a pianist and marimba player from Japan , and Rachel Spector, a soprano from New Canaan , CT. As a special guest, Young Kim, from South Korea , will join the two on cello.

Namikawa will perform Rachmaninoff’s Prelude No. 1 in c# minor, and two movements from Ney Rosauro’s Concerto for Marimba.Spector will sing music of Vaughan Williams, Fauré, and a song from the Broadway musical The Fantasticks. 

Kim and Namikawa will present the first movement of Brahms’s First Sonata for Cello and Piano.

The recital will take place in the Olivia Music Building on the Northfield campus.It is open to the public and free of charge. For more information, please call the music office at 413-498-3281.
