Tonight was Senior Night, and we celebrated our seniors, Jill Chaffee, Kayla Collins, Macey Thomas, and Erin Marley, as well as our three year manager, Sharon Dunmore. We hosted Proctor who braved the weather to come out to NMH. The first period saw NMH have the better of the play, but as has been the pattern for much of the second half of the season, we could not score. Entering the second period, the score was deadlocked, 0-0, until Proctor found the back of the net when they fired a shot from the point that was perfectly deflected in front of the NMH goal and past the NMH goaltender, Amanda Fontaine. Entering the third period down, 1-0, the girls were confident that they could come back, but Senior Night or not, they were unable to regain their rythym from earlier in the game, and Proctor quickly found the back of the NMH net two more times, extending their lead to 3-0. Despite a good effort, NMH was held scoreless, and the game ended, 3-0. It was a disappointing loss for everyone, but especially the seniors, who had hoped for better. With the loss, NMH drops to 10-11-5 on the season. On Saturday, the Hoggers will close out their season on the road against a very strong Brewster Academy team.
