Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) offers a highly competitive girls’ ice hockey program that competes at the Division I prep level in the New England Prep School Girls Ice Hockey Association (NEPSGIHA), one of the most elite leagues in all of the United States. Opponents include schools such as Loomis-Chaffee, Deerfield, Choate, Westminster, Cushing Academy, and Exeter. In addition to a strong regular season schedule, NMH competes in the Westminster Holiday Invitational Tournament as well as the Exeter New Years Tournament.
Comprised of student-athletes dedicated to hard work and team play, the NMH hockey program is committed to providing its players with the skills to succeed at the highest level both on and off the ice. With this dedication to both individual and team excellence, NMH hockey players learn the value of sportsmanship, leadership, citizenship, and working toward common team objectives. As a result of this, NMH seeks girls who are dedicated not only to hockey, but also to the community at large.
The NMH girls hockey program consists of two teams, a varsity team and a junior varsity team. Members of the varsity team are experienced, well-seasoned players, many of whom seek to eventually compete at the college level, while the junior varsity squad consists of hockey players with experience ranging from 1-5 years. Coaches at both levels work hard to provide an environment where players can develop and refine their skills, helping them to become much better players and people.
