NMH crew has one enormous advantage over other crews in New England--14 miles of the best water anywhere! The Connecticut River cuts through the rural countryside of western Massachusetts, and we row past miles of farms and woodlands. In the fall, the riverbanks are so picturesque as to be almost unbelievable. The water runs flat and warm throughout the Head racing season. In the spring, we have the river to ourselves as the snowmelt from Vermont and New Hampshire rushes past.
Each spring we carry four eights; the third and fourth boats provide an opportunity for novices to learn to row. We enter three eights into the NEIRA regatta at the end of the season.
