Northfield Mount Hermon is dedicated to excellence in teaching and holds high academic standards for its faculty. Of the approximately 95 faculty members, 65 percent hold advanced degrees and the average teaching experience is 24 years. Applicants should be able to contribute to all aspects of the school community, as reflected by the normal faculty workload that includes a combination of classroom teaching, student advising, coaching, and student house supervision.
Applicants should be committed to making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents, willing to embrace the challenges of boarding school life, and excited about innovative methods of secondary education. Candidates who can coach an interscholastic team two out of three seasons, can contribute to the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community, or are proficient in a second language are encouraged to apply.
