Please register online.Bring a potluck/dish to pass plus: • Your own items to grill (charcoal provided)• Your own items to drink (alcohol is allowed in the park)• Your own lawn chairs and coolers• Supplies for s’mores (and sticks/ barbecue forks to cook the marshmallows)• Eating utensils and paper items providedMeeting Place: Meet at the shelter at Group Area B which has easy access to hiking trails, an open fireplace and two grills. Think about staying for the weekend (see information on registration page for places to stay or camp).Rain Plan: In the Oregon spirit, we will hold this event even if the weather is wet. Wear clothing for possible wetness. In addition to wearing layers for varied weather, our guests should wear, or have good walking shoes. The Canyon Trail is very inviting, and well maintained, but could be wet, slippery, and steep.Pets: Not allowed on the Canyon Trail or inside facilities (lodges, log cabins, restrooms). Must be kept on a 6 foot leash and under physical control at all times. Must "clean up" after pet.Directions:From Portland: If using I-5, travel time - 75 min. Take I-5 south to Woodburn exit. Take Highway 214 through Woodburn and follow signs to Mt. Angel (7 miles). Straight through Mt. Angel to Silverton, continuing on 214. From Silverton follows signs to Silver Falls State Park on 214. It's 15 miles from downtown Silverton on the right.From Portland, East side and I-205, Exit 10 off I-205 Highway 213 south. Follow 213 past Oregon City, past Molalla, into Silverton. Where you must turn left onto a one way street in downtown Silverton, turn left and continue straight. This is now 214. Watch for signs to Silver Falls State Park, 15 miles.From Eugene, On I-5, travel time 75 minutes. Take I-5 north to the highway 22 exit. Go east to highway 214 and follow the signs to Silver Falls State Park. The turn to "South Falls" area will be on your left.Use South Falls entrance (pass both Winter Falls trailhead and North Falls viewpoint when coming from north from Silverton on Rte 214). After passing entrance gate go approx. 50 ft and take first right and shelter parking is immediately on the left. Additional parking is available by taking the first left after the gate in the Main Parking area across the street from the shelter.Think about carpooling!
