Employment Intern Positions

Upward Bound

NMH Upward Bound offers several exciting internships, work study opportunities, and AmeriCorps positions. These provide students and recent college graduates an excellent opportunity to develop skills in education, counseling, and social justice work.

College Work Study Tutors: Immediate Openings
We are taking applications for college students who could assit in our after school tutoring sessions in Springfield, Holyoke, Greenfield, and Turners Falls. Tutoring sessions take place between 2:30 and 5 pm Monday through Thursday. Exact times vary with each site. Strength in several academic areas, experience working with adolescents and, the ability to engage and motivate college-bound youth are preferred. We are currently working with the Universtiy of Massachusetts, Amherst College, and Mount Holyoke work-study programs. We will consider students from other area colleges as well. Interns: Summer 2008
We are currently accepting applications for Upward Bound Tutor Counselor Interns to work in our Summer Academy from June 16 to August 1, 2008. Tutor Counselor Interns assist in the classroom, lead afternoon activities, teach electives, tutor students in study hall, and supervise residential life. Please complete and return this application, which will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Full year positions: Summer or Fall, 2008

AmeriCorps Positions: College graduates may apply to work for one or two years with our program through the AmeriCorps program in Greenfield or Holyoke. Excellent training, benefits, stipends, and supports provided. Please contact the two organizations that operate the AmeriCorps programs and indicate that you are interested in working specifically with the NMH Upward Bound Program.
