Athletic Trainer Intern
full-time, one year positionNorthfield Mount Hermon School, an independent co-educational boarding school in western Massachusetts, seeks a certified athletic trainer to serve in a well established physical education and athletics program that strives to develop in each student a desire to establish a lifelong pattern of daily physical exercise as well as a knowledge of and appreciation for the human body. This is a one-year position that will begin in the fall of 2008.
The successful applicant will have a bachelor's degree from an NATABOC-accredited institution in athletic training or related field with a background sufficient to teach various courses in the physical education curriculum. NATA certification and Massachusetts licensure are required. Additional qualifications include strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. Candidates should be familiar with boarding school life and have a demonstrated interest in making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents.
Responsibilities of the position include a combination of athletic training, teaching physical education, student advising, and living in dorm.
