John has coached a sport every year since coming to NMH in 1982. He coached JV boys basketball for one year, JV boys lacrosse for 12 years, varsity and JV boys volleyball for two years, and JV boys soccer for nine years. In addition to coaching, he refereed high school lacrosse for four years.

Head Coach
John has coached a sport every year since coming to NMH in 1982. He coached JV boys basketball for one year, JV boys lacrosse for 12 years, varsity and JV boys volleyball for two years, and JV boys soccer for nine years. In addition to coaching, he refereed high school lacrosse for four years.
He took over coaching JV golf in spring 2006. He has played golf since 1960, has played for his high school golf teams, and has held a handicap of six or better since 1998.
John has taught English at NMH since 1982 and has done dormitory duty every year. He served as department head of English from 1997 to 2001.
