Head Coach
David Reeder has been coaching boys crew at NMH for eight years, and leads a program that is growing in both numbers of athletes and in competitiveness. His varsity fours in the fall have been very successful, earning victories at numerous regattas around New England, including the Head of the Fish, Head of the Connecticut, and the New Hampshire championships. Three of his squads have placed in the top ten at the Head of the Charles regatta, including two sixth-place finishes in 2006 and 2007. His varsity eights in the spring have earned victories against almost every varsity eight in the highly competitive New England Interscholastic Rowing Association, and have placed in the NEIRA Grand Finals twice during the past five years.
David came to NMH after working as an assistant coach for a number of years at both Mt. Baker (WA) and Andover (MA). He rowed for four years on the varsity lightweight eight at Washington State University and earned two PAC-10 championships with those crews. He is the chair of the science department and teaches physics and geology. David lives with his wife and three children in Northfield, and will be on sabbatical during the spring of 2009.
