What a four days it has been for the NMH boys basketball team. It feels like we had 2 weeks of experiences in 4 days. It started on Sunday when the team made the trip to New Hampshire to cheer on the NMH boys hockey team in the NEPSAC championships. The team was inspired by the heart, determination and "leave it all on the ice" attitude of the boys hockey team. Then things got started on Tuesday for the basketball team with the quarterfinals of the National Championships in New Haven. NMH took down #4 team in the country, Notre Dame Prep, 85-78. There was a quick turn around and got right back at it with an 11:00am tip on Wednesday for the Final Four. NMH took on the #1 team in the country, and previously unbeaten, Hargrave Military Academy. NMH played a tough, physical game to come away with the hard earned, 86-83 win to advance to the National Championship game.
NMH gave a great effort in the National Championship game and had terrific support from the NMH faithful in the crowd. The boys gave us a performance to be proud of in the championship game. Well done, boys! NMH loses an exciting game, 79-76 in overtime.
NMH boys basketball ties a school record with a 23 win season and their first trip to the National Championship game. It was a terrific year!
Thank you all for the support you showed the team this year!
