NMH boys hockey
NMH boys hockey team is proud to be a member of the Division I New England Prep School Ice Hockey Association (NEPSIHA), which is generally regarded as the best high school hockey league in the country.
Our varsity hockey team plays an exceptionally competitive schedule, facing off against such top rivals as Andover, Exeter, Westminster, Deerfield, Choate, Avon, Cushing, Taft, and Tabor. We also attend two prestigious prep school tournaments during the course of the season: the Lawrenceville School’s Christmas Tournament and the Cushing Academy’s New Year’s Tournament.
Many student-athletes go on to play competitive college hockey, and several have been successful at the professional level. For example, current Washington Capital defenseman Brian Pothier '96 played at NMH for three years before exceling on the ice at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Brian Strait '06, a two-year Hogger, recenlty signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the wake of winning an NCAA National Championship with Boston University. Strait was scheduled to captain the BU Terriers his senior year before signing with the Penguins.
