Saylor System Review

Currently:                   Small down to 110 and below

Medium from 110-249

Large remains 250 and above

What would happen in small went to 150?

-

small goes from 17 to 23

-    medium goes from 18 to 12

-    large stays 10

-    both rankings distributed (the real and the “what if?”)

-    is the number of girls more important or the number of schools in each category?

-    let’s use e-mail to further discuss

-    how would it affect the scheduling opportunities for the schools that drop down (i.e. schools not wanting to schedule them any more)?

-    could you petition to play up? for three years?

New England Tournaments

- 1st round: higher seed is home unless it is more than 2.25 hours away

- 2nd round: same

- Finals: at G.D.A.

All League Voting Discussion

At issue: not everyone does it regularly and consistently

Keep as is:

-    brings in different perspectives

-    forces communication between coaches (in theory)

-    role models spirit of communication for girls

-    helps coaches see their girls in different light

-    helps coaches remember balance

-    helps defend decisions with girls and, especially, parents

-    helps keep coaches more attentive to realities (playing time, predispositions, etc.)

Change:

-    people forget, don’t follow through, walk away

-    get caught up in the game and forget to watch other team

-    sometimes no one jumps out

-    sometimes coaches confuse / forget numbers

-    sometimes coaches have predispositions / other influences

Questions:

-    what would an alternative look like?

-    how could we better get coaches to follow through?

Ideas:

-    have assistants / bench players keep tabs on the other team

-    keep better stats

-    just be more diligent

Tournament teams stayed after to further discuss their particular issues
