NMH has a long and storied history with lacrosse as one of the first secondary schools in New England to offer the sport. Since starting the sport in the 1930s, NMH has worked to establish itself as one of the top secondary school lacrosse programs in the country.
NMH offers two levels of lacrosse: varsity and junior varsity. The varsity team participates in the elite Western New England Secondary School Lacrosse Association (WNESSLA) Division I league and boasts the very best lacrosse players at NMH. The JV team is comprised generally of experienced younger often novice players and varsity hopefuls. Each level plays a full host of games, generally two per week, and practices four times per week. Coaches at all levels work to bring players up through the program and to develop individuals’ abilities to play at the next level, whether that means moving from JV to varsity or from varsity to the college level. The coaches at each level pride themselves in working with players as individuals and developing their talents to the best of their abilities.
The Northfield Mount Hermon Girls Varsity Lacrosse team has consistently been among the most competitive teams in New England. Our location enables us to compete against the top prep school lacrosse teams in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Northfield Mount Hermon girls lacrosse includes a varsity and a junior varsity team.
NMH is a member of the Division 1 Northern New England league, and competes against teams from both the Eastern and Western divisions. Our schedule includes Phillips Exeter, Phillips Andover, Loomis Chaffee, Taft, Hotchkiss, Tabor, and Choate.
After graduating from NMH, Lady Hoggers have gone to compete at schools such as Harvard, Brown, Connecticut College, University of Michigan, Rutgers, and Union, among others.
The team begins the season with an optional week-long training camp in Florida at Disney’s Wide World of Sports, which prepares for girls for the upcoming season. Click here for more.
