Worth Noting:A terrific athlete, Colin has committed to playing junior hockey next year before heading to college.
At NMH:Colin is entering his third year as a midfielder for the varsity lacrosse team at NMH. This season, Colin will see the field a lot in various capacities as a defensive midfielder, transitional player, and man-down specialist, in addition to running a regular shift with an offensive midfield line. He has already impressed, having been named to the 2008 Royal Palms All-Tournament Team for his hefty contributions on the team’s spring trip. As a defensive midfielder in 2007, Colin tallied 2 goals and 1 assist and impressively amassed zero penalties. In 2006, Colin totaled 2 goals and 1 assist as well, seeing time more as an offensive midfielder.
Before NMH:Before coming to NMH, Colin played varsity lacrosse as a freshman at Sandwich High School (MA).
Personal:Colin is also a three-year member of the NMH varsity hockey team and served as team captain this past winter. Additionally, Colin is a Student Leader in Overtoun Dorm. He has a sister, Molly, who attends the Pomfret School. Colin is the son of Kevin and MaryEllen Downey.
