NMH offers the finest in academic, artistic and athletic possibilities and this school-wide commitment to excellence is manifested particularly in the work of the girls basketball program. It is our belief that through individual hard work and a strong sense of dedication to others, our young women are challenged to achieve their best even as they come to recognize that they are more themselves in relationship to those around them. In this way, the girls who have the opportunity to compete for NMH on the hardwood--whether at the varsity, junior varsity, or junior level--receive training for life on the court as well as off. Our approach then is just an extension of our overall school philosophy which focuses on developing well-rounded young adults as we seek to educate "the head, the hand, and the heart."

NMH is a member of NEPSAC (Class A) and competes annually against some of the best high school competition anywhere. Teams from Andover, Brewster, Choate, Cushing, Deerfield, Exeter, Loomis-Chaffee, Milton, Stoneleigh-Burnham, Suffield, Tabor, Thayer and Williston-Northampton represent our regular opponents. We also compete against college junior varsity teams such as Springfield and Williams, which are noted for their high level of maturity, dedication, and desire. Playing against such tough opponents on a regular basis, coupled with practice sessions that are regularly challenging, enable our team and team members to constantly push ourselves as we strive to become a more cohesive, dedicated unit. Fair play and perseverance are essential in this endeavor.
