Gary Correia

Gary comes to NMH from Hope HS in Providence, RI. He led the team to the Rhode Island final four. He was selected to the All-League team and averaged 12.6 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 3 rebounds per contest. This past summer Gary played on Jason Elliot's Rhode Island Hawks AAU program. Gary led the team to the championship game in Las Vegas and a number of championships throughout the summer. He helped the Hawks to a 32-4 record while averaging 17 pts., 6 assists, 4 steals and 5 rebounds. Gary will be studying Spanish, Algebra II, World History, Physics, World Literature and World Religions during his sophomore year. This fall, Gary was the starting wide receiver for the football team and will be a member of our track team in the Spring. Gary will spend the summer playing his AAU ball with the Rhode Island Hawks

JR Currie

JR is a four year senior at NMH. He is one of three returning players from last year. Last year, JR played in 10 games and had 17 points and 12 rebounds on the season. As a sophomore, JR was a major contributor to the success of our JVA basketball team. JR led the team with 15 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game. JR is a terrific teammate and an outstanding member of the NMH community. During his senior year, JR will be studying AB Calculus, Chinese IV, Harlem Renaissance, Multivariable Calculus and Chemistry II.
 

Isaac Johnson

Isaac comes to NMH after a prolific career at Timilty MS in Boston. Isaac led Timilty to a 14-0 record and the Boston City Championship. Isaac was named the Most Valuable Player in the city. He averaged over 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists per contest as an 8th grader. Isaac is also a gifted football player. He led the Everett Pop Warner football team to the National Semi-Finals where they lost to Team Texas. This past fall for the Hoggers he was the starting cornerback for the football team. Isaac will accomplish the rare feat of a freshman who will earn three varsity letters when he competes for the track team in the Spring. This year, Isaac will be studying Freshman Writing, Introduction to Physics with Algebra I, Ninth grade History, Religious Studies, Freshman English and Spanish I. Isaac will spend his summer playing AAU ball with the Boston Amateur Basketball Club ( BABC).

Sky Khaleel

Sky comes to NMH after four years at Benjamin N. Cardozo High School under Ron Naclerio. Sky was a three year starter for Cardozo. During his senior year he led Cardozo to a 22-3 record and a loss in the City Championship game at Madison Square Garden to eventual State Champion, Lincoln HS led by Sebastian Telfair. Sky averaged 15 points and 13 rebounds a contest and was named to the All- New York City 2nd team and was named the Queens' Player of the Year. This past summer Sky split his AAU ball between the New Heights' Scholar-Athlete program and Team Bounce out of NY. Sky was recently named one of the top 75 prep school players in the nation. Sky will be a member of the NMH track team in the Spring. Sky signed his National Letter of Intent to play his college Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Conference at Loyola College in Maryland.

Alvin Lewis

Alvin joins NMH after a prolific career at Madison Park HS where he averaged 32 points, 7 assists, and 2 steals per contest. He led Madison Park to a 13-8 record and a loss in the quarterfinals of the city championships. Alvin racked up the post season recognitions being named to the 1st team All-Boston team and All-League. Alvin is considered on of the premier prep talents in Massachusetts this year. He is a great leader on and off the court and is a wonderful addition to the NMH community. Alvin finished his AAU career with the New England Playaz. During his post graduate year, Alvin will be studying English, Precalculus, Multiculturalism in the US, Women's Voices: Echoes and Evolution and Geology. Alvin has signed a National Letter of Intent to play his college basketball in the BIG WEST Conference at the University of California-Irvine.

Andrew Lyell

Andrew was named captain along with fellow senior, Colin McIntosh, for the 2004-2005 NMH basketball team. He is in his second year in Coach Batty's program. Last year, Andrew was an all-purpose player for the Hoggers. He played anywhere from point guard to power forward. He is a throwback to the days of all-around players. He averaged 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per contest. We expect an increase in all categories this year. This past summer he spent with TJ Gasnola's New England Playaz AAU club. He suffered a serious foot injury early in July and missed the summer circuit. Last year, Andrew was the # 1 ranked junior in the state of Rhode Island. During his senior year, Andrew will be studying Calculus, Literature and Composition with Sarah Rebick, Psychology, War, Astronomy and Physics. Andrew has committed to play his college ball at the Division II NCAA Runner-up, Bryant College, in the NE-10 conference. 

Chaz Malloy

Chaz is in his third year at NMH and is the lone junior on the Hogger's roster. Last year, he was a major impact player for our second level team at NMH. He averaged 24 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals per contest. He is a terrific shooter from three point range and is a solid defender. In his junior year Chaz will be studying American Literature, Government and Civil Liberties, Algebra II, Harlem Renaissance, Violence and Non-Violence, Ecology and Geology.

Colin McIntosh

Colin was named captain, alongside Andrew Lyell, after a stellar junior year campaign. Colin averaged 14 points and 5 rebounds per contest while shooting 51% from the three point arc, 51% from the floor and nearly 75% from the free throw line. He led NMH to the championship game at the Boys Club tourney in NYC and was named to the All-Tournament team. We expect Colin to again be the leader for Batty's club during his senior season. Colin finished the AAU summer season playing for Nick Blatchford's New Heights Scholar-Athlete program in NYC. Colin will be studying Statistics, Literature and Composition, Expository Writing, Psychology, Spanish IV and Human Physiology. Colin is undecided about his college plans. Colin will sign his National Letter of Intent to play his college ball in the America East at The University of Vermont
 

Roahn Sheppard

Roahn comes to NMH from Cardigan Mountain in New Hampshire where he led his team to a 25-4 record. He averaged 25 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 blocks per game. He plays his AAU ball with Dwayne "Tiny" Morton's Juice All-Star club out of Brooklyn, NY. During his sophomore year, Roahn will be studying World Religions, World History, Physics, Sophomore English, Creative Writing, Spanish I, African and Latin American Percussions and Geometry. Roahn will first make a trip to Italy for a European basketball tournament with the Boys Club of New York and play his AAU ball with the New Heights Scholar-Athlete team.

Matt Smith

Matt landed for a post graduate year at NMH after four years at Lawrence Academy. At Lawrence, Matt was a four year member and a three year starter for the varsity team. During his career he accumulated 920 points. Last year, he averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds on 45% from three point range. Matt was named to the All-ISL for the second consecutive year. For the past two summers, Matt played his AAU ball with Mike Crotty's Middlesex Magic team. This year Matt will be studying English, Psychology, Environmental Studies, Calculus and Philosophy. Matt signed his National Letter of Intent to play his college basketball in the Colonial league with Northeastern University.

Jon dealt with an injury plagued season at Indian Valley HS before coming to NMH. He only played in 6 games last season, but averaged 19 points and 13 rebounds before the season ending injury. Jon is a high energy player and a strong defender with great athletic ability. He will be an important piece to the success of NMH this season. He played his AAU ball with Dejuan Lee's Capital Athletic program. This year Jon will be studying English, Ideology and Revolution, Ethics, Precalculus and human Physiology. Jon has committed to attend Swarthmore College to play in the Centennial Conference. 
 

Clive Weeden

Clive decided to attend NMH after a brief stint at Nashoba Regional HS. Last year, Clive averaged 10 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 assists as a reserve player for Nashoba. Clive is a gifted athlete. He joined teammate Gary Correia as the starting wide receivers for football and will run track this spring. During his sophomore year Clive will study World History, World Religions, Precalculus, English, French II and Chemistry. Clive will spend his summer playing his AAU ball with the Rhode Island Hawks

Joe Wolfinger

Joe comes to NMH after a very successful stint with Ken Yarnell's Aloha HS program outside of Portland. Joe averaged 14.9 points and 10 rebounds per contest while leading Aloha to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 15 years. Joe was named 1st team all-metro, honorable mention all-state and was ranked one of the top 10 players in the state of Oregon. He was named team MVP while shooting 86.5% from the free throw line and broke the school record with 19 rebounds. This year Joe will be studying English, Psychology, Algebra II, Harlem Renaissance, War and Philosophy. Joe has signed his National Letter of Intent to play his college basketball in the PAC-10 with the University of Washington.

Jawaan Wright

Jawaan comes to NMH from Springfield Cathedral HS where he averaged 19 points and 12.5 rebounds per contest. He helped his team to a 13-9 record and a quarterfinal loss in the Western Mass. play-offs. Jawaan is considered one of the top 25 players in Massachusetts. In recognition of his performance senior year, Jawaan was named to the first team All-Western MA. Jawaan is a strong, physical player with great determination. He will make an immediate impact on the Hogger program. During his post graduate year, Jawaan will be studying English, Harlem Renaissance, Religion in America at the Millennium, Precalculus and Astronomy. Jawaan has signed a National Letter of Intent to play his college ball in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference ( MAAC) at Loyola College in Maryland.
