Baseball Facilities

The NMH baseball diamond, on McLamore Field
With the Connecticut River Valley in the background, it's a beautiful setting to watch a
game!
Our outdoor facilities include a batting cage and JUGS machine, a whiffle-ball machine, an ATEC soft-toss machine, several solo hitters, and hitting tees.
Inside the gym, we have a second batting cage, and a JUGS machine that is available
throughout the school year. Our gym is large enough to handle indoor workouts on rainy
days. We use the indoor batting cage during the fall and winter, and during the spring in
inclement weather.

The College Scene
Many of our players go on to play college ball. Over the last few years
we've had players go to Williams, Harvard, Swarthmore, Colby, Sewanee, Villanova,
Northeastern, Trinity, Rollins, Fordham, Temple, Tufts, Providence, Amherst, Boston
College, Rochester, Guilford, St. Michaels, Hamilton, Kenyon, St. Lawrence, Tulane,
Springfield, Trinity and Skidmore. Throughout the school year the coaches work with the
seniors and with college coaches to help assure a good academic and athletic match.
Academics
The most important reason for attending a prep school is to improve your academic work,
and in that area we offer a truly quality experience. Many of our courses, especially in
mathematics (which I teach) and English offer different levels depending upon the ability
of the student. You will be stretched academically, and prepared very well for the rigors
of college work. Our curriculum is broad and strong. You can investigate the curriculum
for the current academic year by visiting the
NMH curriculum
page.
The
Jackie
Robinson Award
The NMH Baseball Award is given annually
in memory and honor of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson, whose son is
an NMH graduate. Big Red Baseball is very proud to have this meaningful tie to a great man
and ballplayer.
The recipient of the award for the 2004 season is
Kai Robinson. Kai is a four-year junior who has been on the varsity team since his
freshman year.
