The Select Women's Ensemble


The Select Women's Ensemble (SWE) is an auditioned group of female singers. This group works on building repertoire, vocal technique,  sight reading, and good choral skills. Members are also part of Concert Choir. One-half academic credit is given for a year’s participation.

SWE performs a wide variety of repertoire from sacred to secular.

Recent repertoire:

  • Sandi Peaslee- Ain't I a Woman? (composed for and premiered by the Select Women's Ensemble)
  • Michael Haydn: Regina Coeli from Litanie della Madonna
  • Hatfield, arr.: The Virgin Mary Had A Baby Boy
  • Poulenc: Hodie Christus Natus Est
  • Jeep: Music, Thou Most Beauteous Art
  • Atteberry: When Lilacs Bloom'd
The Select Women's Ensemble performs in Vespers, Sacred Concert, the Choral Program concert, and other events on campus. They have also traveled to Washington, D.C., Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, and Canada, and has won gold plaques at American Choral Directors Association festivals.
