NMH Arts : Dance

The dance program at NMH is a great place for people who have been dancing their whole lives, have just started, or are eager to try it for the first time. The program includes two auditioned performing groups—the NMH Dance Company and the NMH Junior Dance Company—and a variety of technique classes. Dance courses meet the physical education requirement and have an informal performance at the end of each term.

Performance opportunities
The dance companies of NMH have a modern focus, with additional work in jazz and ballet. Placement is by audition and the companies are featured in four formal concerts per year. Students perform choreography created by faculty and students. Students who create their own choreography for concerts are assisted through the creative process. The dance companies run year round, with an audition each term. Students who dance all terms are members of Snapdragon Dance Group, a repertory ensemble that performs on and off campus.
