Class of '03

October 2007

Dear Member of the Class of ’03,

If you can believe it, five years have passed since we walked across the stage in the Auditorium and were handed our diploma from NMH!  Now that most of us have finished college, it is time to reunite with our high school friends.

Planning is now underway for our 5th reunion to be held June 5-8, 2008. Please mark your calendar for what will be a fantastic weekend filled with, yup you guessed it, reuniting with dear friends, sharing great memories, and having a great party!  It will also be a great opportunity for us to see the many changes on the former Mount Hermon campus (now NMH) and to tour the new, currently-under-construction, Rhodes Center for the Arts. I took a hardhat tour of this building and it was remarkable. By the time we are at NMH for reunion, the building will be close to ready to open, and tours will be readily available.

In the coming months we will be planning events, and we welcome your ideas. Throughout the weekend there will be various seminars, sports and recreation, and lots of time to hang out with old friends. We will also plan a trip to the Northfield campus to pay our respects to the other half of our beloved school. If you would like to present a slideshow, artwork, open mic, hold a reading/book signing, or do anything that will be of interest to your classmates and other returning alumni, please let us know.

Personally, I am really excited about the chance to get together with everybody and see how life has changed since graduation. I really hope that most if not all of our class will be able to return to campus. I had a great weekend when I went up to NMH for reunion planning, and during the dinner trivia game, I won (with some help from D.L. Moody descendent and alum David Powell ‘48 as well as the wonderful women of the NMH Alumni Annual Fund office) a whole bunch of super yummy Hogger cookies for our class!  These lovely pig-shaped treats are a hospitality gift from the school and will certainly come in handy during those wee hours of Saturday and Sunday morning that we can expect to still be having a great time.

If you haven’t been up to NMH since graduation there have been some major changes and this will be a great opportunity to visit and have some serious fun throughout the entire weekend. That said I hope to see you this June. Come back and relive old memories, enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and see how NMH has changed in the past five years.

So, please plan on joining us for a great weekend and call or e-mail some old friends to join you at the reunion. Also, there is a Facebook.com group, “NMH Class of 2003, ” for our reunion which I ask everybody to join. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in June.

Fondly,
