Class of '73

October 2007

Dear ’73 Classmate,

Can you believe that next June marks 35 years since we graduated from NMH on that hot June day!  Are we really this old?

Our 35th REUNION is June 5-8, 2008!  Mark it on your calendar right now!

We are really hoping that you will be able to come back for the weekend, or some part of it. This is a unique opportunity to reconnect with old friends as well as make some new ones!

If you came to the 30th Reunion, you know how much fun we had, and we have even more fun events planned for the 35th REUNION!  Highlights include:

  • Golf outing on Thursday afternoon at the Brattleboro Country Club for the first 15 players to commit (ask John). Golfers and non-golfers are invited to meet for drinks and Dutch treat dinner Thursday evening at a fun Brattleboro restaurant with nice outdoor decks and views!  Remember, lodging at NMH on Thursday night is FREE for those registered for the reunion!

  • Golf outing on Friday at the Northfield Course!

Possible hike up Mount Monadnock on Friday afternoon!

  • Alumni Artists Exhibit, which has always included an impressive array of talent from fellow alums, including our own Betsy Bruce and David Torrey!  Anyone else?

  • Friday night coffeehouse featuring the band of Pierce Campbell, Greg Burrill, Joe Klein, Jaime Voos, and David Torrey. This was one of the highlights of the 30th Reunion, and they have consented to “kick things off” Friday evening at a great new venue in Beveridge!
  • Class dinner Saturday evening featuring the second installment of the “Keep on Truckin” awards (remember this is our class motto). These awards—you must be present to win—may include the all-so-important categories of: most careers to date, most fun job, most dramatic career change, still haven’t held a job, the most children, person traveling the furthest, etc. This was hilarious at our 30th and promises to be lots of fun again!  If you can only come for a short time—make sure you register for and attend the Saturday night dinner!  Before dinner we will also have a brief class meeting to nominate and elect class leaders for the next five years.

Saturday night dinner will be followed by a rock and roll dance band and a Cabaret of NMH alumni!  Who wants to perform at the Cabaret?

No matter where you are in your life, please consider coming back for the 35th Reunion!  Call an old classmate and plan to meet up next June at NMH! Bring your spouse and try to explain Recitation

Parking Lot!  NMH will always be an important part of who we are.  Where else can you go and feel 18 again or share your mid-life crisis and hot flashes with people who truly understand?

You will also be receiving a letter and a call asking you to consider making a special reunion donation. We have just learned that one of our classmates recently made a $1 million anonymous, unrestricted gift to Northfield Mount Hermon. Let’s step up to the challenge she has given us and match it to ensure the next generation receives the best education NMH has to offer, just as we did!  That is our reunion goal. In contemplating your donation, please reflect on the opportunities that NMH made possible in your life. Help make it possible for current students to have similar opportunities. Together, we can reach this goal!  Every donation makes a difference!

More detailed information on the 35th REUNION will be sent in February. In the meantime, please fill out the enclosed form and let us know your intention to join us next June.

If you would like to help with the reunion or have any suggestions, we would love your assistance. Please contact any one of us by phone or e-mail. All help is welcome!

Let us help you reconnect with a classmate. Want to call or e-mail an old friend and make sure they are attending?  We all have the class list and will be glad to provide you with the most current contact information upon request. Also, please go to the NMH website:  nmhschool.org, log on to the alumni community, and register your e-mail address so we can keep our lists current and keep you abreast of the latest reunion updates.

We really want to see you June 5-8, 2008 at our 35TH reunion!

“Keep on truckin”!
