Dear Class of ’68:

Several of us, your reunion committee, met on the NMH campus in September to begin to plan for our 40th reunion, scheduled for June 5-8, 2008. Wendy Alderman Cohen ‘67 reunion chair, joined us and gave us some great insights into their successful 40th last year. She also commented on the community spirit (and safety) of having all events on one campus. We had a chance to view the progress of the Rhodes Center for the Arts, which should be almost finished by June, and to talk to current students about their experiences and activities at NMH. It really was inspiring to see that the atmosphere of scholarship and community spirit that we remember so fondly is alive and well at our beloved school.

As we make our plans, we need your help.

Authors: Please let us know if you would be willing to share your writing with the alumni and participate in a book signing.

Artists: There will be an alumni art exhibit. Please notify us if you would like to take part.

Performers: There will be the annual Cabaret performance on Saturday evening and we would love to have you represent our class.

The Head of the School Tom Sturtevant has laid out as topics for this year’s alumni seminars on Friday the following education initiatives:

Interdisciplinary approaches
Community life
International education
Academic excellence, diversity and equity
Sustainability

If you would like to speak on any of these themes, we’d be happy to pass along your interest to the reunion office.

Inspired by the class of ‘67’s generosity, we have set an ambitious goal for our class giving to the Annual Fund. Please make your contribution early and help us meet that NMH goal.

Attendance at our 35th reunion was 51; our goal this time is 68 for ’68! Please help reach this by encouraging not only close friends but also dorm mates or members of your sports teams to attend. If you do not have their current address or e-mail, let us know and we will get you the information. We are working with the school on a new class web page, which will also help in this effort.

MOST IMPORTANT: Mark your calendars and plan on joining us Thursday, June 5 (Thursday night is free!) through Sunday, June 8, or any part of the weekend. There will be lots of fun and time to enjoy reconnecting with your classmates. We look forward to seeing you then!
