Mount Hermon Class of `62 December Letter
December 7, 2007Dear Classmate :
Congratulations! And thank you again for your generosity! For the fifth year running, we exceeded our 2007 NMH Annual Fund goal. What’s more, our class gifts to the Annual Fund have kept us in the top 15 percent of all classes year after year.
To get a sense of NMH today, visit campus during the school year. Take a tour, talk to students and faculty, and attend an athletic or performing arts event. Also, try to find time to talk to Tom Sturtevant. We can’t emphasize enough what a good, strong leader he is. You will come away with great enthusiasm for NMH and a renewed belief in the value of your financial support for the school.
We are now entering a very special time of giving to NMH: the buildup to our 50th reunion. Even though most of us feel too young to be looking toward our 50th, here we are! To highlight the importance of 50th reunion giving and the generosity that it traditionally inspires, NMH counts all gifts received between our 45th and 50th reunions as part of our total 50th reunion class gift.
All donations made from this point forward will count toward our 50thtotal, so don’t hold back until 2012! Gifts to the NMH Annual Fund, capital gifts, and estate planning gifts are all eligible. It is important to note that estate planning gifts traditionally make up approximately 50 percent of total 50th reunion class gifts. More information on estate planning and capital projects will follow over the next few years. Please remember the NMH Annual Fund and help us beat our goal again this year.
We would like to thank Jock for all his efforts over the past few years as co-gift chair. Our fundraising accomplishments as a class have been a direct result of his dedication to and love for Northfield Mount Hermon. We look forward to working with him in his new role as 50th reunion chair.
Thank you again for your past generosity,
Al Burnett Ladd Jeffers
