October 2006

Dear Friends,

Several of us were on campus for a great weekend at NMH in September.  What made it so wonderful?  Being back on campus, visiting with each other, and looking forward to seeing more of you at our fortieth reunion, June 7-10, 2007.  We joined with faculty, trustees and 100 alumni for convocation and were inspired by the current NMH students—their concern for the world, their enthusiasm, and their obvious love and respect for the school that inspired us almost forty years ago.  The surface may be different but the foundation is the same.  Commitment to community and Moody’s “head, heart, and hand” was evident in the students’ spirited presentations and the dedication of the staff.

So come back.  See for yourself what NMH is like today and join us for a relaxing weekend of fun and friendship.  A special plea to those who have never returned: the NMH experience is such a strong, common bond that is doesn’t matter if you’ve been to most or none of the reunions.  Although it’s a time to renew old friendships, it’s also a time to make new ones.  And, let’s face it, who else can you talk to about Recitation parking lot?  No-one would believe you!

How to prepare for reunion:

  1. Mark the dates on your calendar:  June 7-10, 2007.
  2. Visit the NMH website and update your e-mail address.
  3. Contact at leas ONE person and plan to attend together.
  4. Practice singing Jerusalem.
  5. E-mail a reunion committee member with an idea for a reunion activity.
  6. Make some Bishop’s bread.
  7. Listen to Vespers or Sacred Concert—if you can still play vinyl.
  8. Make your annual fund donation early—it saves the expenses of all those mailings!
  9. Just show up!

Please help us “grow” your reunion committee by contact any one of us with ideas and offers to help.  Come to Reunion Work Weekend, February 16-17, 2007, another opportunity to visit campus and make final plans.  Let us know if you’d be willing to make a few phone calls encouraging others to return.  The personal touch is always the best and you may be just the person someone else wants to see!

Hoping to hear from you soon!
