50th Reunion—Class of 1957

Dear ’57 Classmates,

In seven months, our 50th reunion will be but a memory. My guess is that for those who attend, becoming reacquainted with classmates you haven’t seen for 50 years and strolling through the beautiful NMH campus will leave you with priceless memories. Reunion is June 7–10, 2007

I have a friend who likes to travel as much as I do, and he told me the only trip he ever regretted was the one he thought about but didn’t take. Make sure you’re not in the same position as my friend when it comes to our reunion.

Is it a long distance to travel and a rather expensive commitment for many of you? You bet! Will you feel a little awkward for fear that you won’t recognize someone? You bet! Let me ask you a question: Wouldn’t it be better to make the commitment to come and risk not having a good time than to not come and wish you had?

A lot of your classmates are hard at work on planning the Mount Hermon class of 1957 reunion. As you know, Dave Ewing and his committee are putting together our yearbook. A number of you have returned your essays, but there are still many who haven’t. Your life, thoughts, interests, and accomplishments are uniquely yours, and I hope you’ll share them. Don’t agonize or worry that you never set the world on fire. Darn few of us have. Just sit down and tell us about yourself. We are planning on a number of events to provide an enjoyable weekend—but the most important element is you.
