About NMH Future
Message from Head of School
Tom Sturtevant
March 3, 2005
I would like to share the news with
you that Dean of Development and Alumni Relations Pete Ticconi
has decided to leave NMH to rejoin his family and further his
career at Babson College in Boston. As you may know, for nearly
three years, Pete has worked at NMH as a long-distance commuter
from his home—that’s about a 750 mile round trip. His new job
gives Pete the opportunity to bring his family together as well
as to pursue his passion for development work at the collegiate
level as a Senior Gift Planning Advisor.
I deeply appreciate Pete’s commitment
to NMH during his most recent tenure here, especially at such a
significant time in the school’s history. He built an effective
DAR staff, led our fundraising efforts, created a network of
partners with our board of trustees to support the school’s
strategic plans, and laid the groundwork for a significant
campaign.
Pete will continue to lead our
development and alumni relations office until May 1. Even after
he turns his focus to the advancement challenges at Babson, Pete
will continue to support our development efforts as a volunteer,
providing advice on planned giving, his area of expertise, and
continuing to coach us in our development work.
We will launch a national search for
the next senior leader of our advancement team. Because we
expect this search to take several months, we will appoint an
interim to oversee and manage the development and alumni
relations office after Pete leaves in May. Although I am
disappointed not to keep Pete here, I am excited to build our
team with this critical new appointment. I have spoken with
fundraising consultant Peter Buchannan, Richard Mueller, Pete,
and various board members to set this course. I am secure in
knowing that our DAR staff is capable of meeting the advancement
needs of the school for the near term during our search process.
Please join me in thanking Pete for
his service to NMH and in wishing him and his family well in the
future.
