About NMH Northfield
Honor Northfield Events
As of September 2005, NMH will be a
one-campus school on the Mount Hermon campus. To honor and
celebrate the significance and beauty of the Northfield campus
after 126 years of operation, many events were planned. Following
is a sampling.

Sacred Concert, Auditorium, 2:30 pm
“O Northfield Beautiful”

Northfield open houses and walking tour
All Northfield houses presented open houses immediately
following Sacred Concert. Photographs
chronicling the history of the individual houses and other
presentations were on display for Sacred Concert guests.

A gathering to honor Northfield
Round Top at 11 am, Memorial Chapel lawn at 1:15 pm
Students, faculty, and staff gathered at Round Top to honor
the spirit of Northfield campus through music, dance,
poetry, and prayer. Participants then traveled to the Mount
Hermon campus for a gathering at Memorial
Chapel lawn for more song, words from Head of School
Sturtevant, and the blessing of a special Northfield tree
that was replanted at Mount Hermon.

Baccalaureate service
This end-of-year traditional program included the
personal reflections of five Northfield alumnae: Nancy Bartram
Beecher '44, Irma Klein Schachter '45, Jean Fuller
Farrington '53, Becky Parfitt Kennedy '67, and Deborah
Arnold Chavez '71.

Premier showing of Remember Northfield, a DVD slide show
with sound track of Northfield voices and music―from
Ira Sankey to "Jerusalem" to the Northfield Benediction―and
200 photographs depicting the campus through the decades;

return to NMH to join current students in Opening
Convocation, honor and celebrate the Northfield campus, and
participate in a range of activities, many of which were
suggested by alumni after the January 2004 decision to move
to one campus
