NMH is proud of its long history and dedication to community service. This is where the head, heart, and hand unite in work that benefits the greater community.
Weekly Volunteer Programs
You can apply to volunteer to build houses for Habitat for Humanity, celebrate the birthdays of children in homeless shelters, or be a big brother or big sister—and receive credit for a term of work (eight weeks or 24 volunteer hours).
One-Day Events
Want to help on weekends? You can clean litter from the banks of the Connecticut River, belt out a tune Idol-style to raise money for the United Way, or ante up a pint of blood.
Group Projects
The Outreach Office works with advising groups, houses, clubs, teams, and other student groups to plan and perform service projects such as making and glazing ceramic bowls for Empty Bowls to benefit the Food Bank, cooking and serving community meals, and buying presents for needy families for the holidays.
Leadership Opportunities and Student Projects
Got an idea for a student project you’d like to lead? You’ll get our full support, as well as that of your peers. Students have begun projects here that have become their life’s work and have helped millions of people. It all starts with an idea and the resolve to follow through. We can help you help others.
