As an NMH student you’ll be challenged in the classroom—that’s a given. When you step outside those doors, however, there are programs to engage every interest and element of your character. You’ll reap the satisfaction of contribution to the community in our Work Program. You’ll make the world a better place as you explore our commitment to Social Justice and Multiculturalism, Sustainability and Outreach. You’ll immerse yourself in new cultures and feel the interconnectedness of humankind as you study in Uruguay, New Zealand, Turkey, or any number of countries our International Programs take you.
Back home on our working farm, you’ll decompress, stroke the fuzzy nose of a horse, pick raspberries, sit among our fragrant fields of lavender blooms, or maybe milk a cow and make artisan cheese. And there’s time to cycle off-road, climb a mountain, or snowshoe in the woods when you sign up for physical education credits through our Outdoor Education program.
NMH’s commitment to opportunity education began with the founding of the school. Since the 1960s, that ideal has been embodied here through the Upward Bound Program, which prepares talented low-income students for college.
